🪑 Seating and sightlines

Official capacity is 17,958 in the lower stand + 22,445 in the upper stand = 40,907 (plus 94 accessible seats and 160 VIP seats counted separately). For concerts a floor (F1–F8) is laid over the pitch. Sections are grouped by compass sector, and the number itself tells you which deck you are on — the lower deck is W1–2 (main stand), E1–6, N1–5 and S1–5 (18 sections) and the upper deck is W3–8, E7–12, N6–11 and S6–11 (24 sections). W (west) and E (east) are the straights; N (north) and S (south) are the curved ends. Because it is an open stadium, the stage design (end stage vs 360° vs thrust) changes everything — with that caveat, here is how the tiers compare.

🚇 Getting there

Subway Line 3 to Daehwa Station is the standard route. Take the exit toward the main gate and walk to the stadium; on show days the whole stretch from the Daehwa intersection turns into a street-party of fans heading the same way. Buses drop you near Daehwa Station or the stadium and you walk the same path.

For a 7 pm start, aim to be there by 2–3 pm. The later you arrive, the worse the entry queue, the food options and the bathroom lines get. Coming from outside the Seoul area, Haengsin Station (KTX) plus a taxi or bus is a workable alternative.

🅿️ Parking

The stadium’s own lot holds about 1,940 cars, but on concert days it is often closed or restricted, and when tens of thousands of people leave at once, the closest lots are the ones you sit trapped in longest. Parking further out and walking usually gets you home sooner.

• Ilsanseo-gu District Office public lot — the closest, and therefore full from the morning of the show.
• Goyang Stadium public lot — next to the district office, slightly larger, also fills fast.
• Goyang Hanaro Mart lot — a 15–20 minute walk, large and free. Good value.
• KINTEX lot 2 (recommended) — about a 20-minute walk, with a flat daily rate and no time pressure, so you can leave at your own pace after the show.
• ⚠️ Roadside parking near Daehwa Agricultural Experience Park behind the stadium is ticketed.

☔ Weather

The stadium’s Teflon membrane roof covers the upper part of the stands only — the floor and the area in front of the stage are open to the sky.

• If rain is forecast, bring a poncho or rain jacket. Umbrellas block the view behind you and are banned at most shows.
• For a summer daytime show the western stand catches direct, low sun — bring a hat, sunscreen and water. Even evening shows can get cold outdoors, so a light layer is useful.
• In a typhoon or heavy rain, the promoter’s official notice is the only authority on whether the show is changed. Check before you leave home.

🍜 Food and facilities

• Restaurants and cafés around the stadium are all full close to showtime. Arrive at least 2–3 hours early and eat first.
• Bathroom queues inside are long — the facilities across the road at Ilsanseo-gu District Office and nearby buildings are worth using.
• Assume there is no permanent bag storage. Travel light and check the show’s prohibited-items notice in advance.

⭐ Tips

• In a stadium this size, binoculars (opera glasses) are one of the highest-satisfaction items you can bring — near-essential in the upper stand.
• Bring a power bank. With tens of thousands of phones in one place the network slows down and your battery drains fast.
• Lightstick sync and seat-verification rules differ by show — check the fan club notice.
• Everyone leaves at once. Either take your time after the encore, or check the last train time before you go.
