What to Actually Bring to a Korean Concert
Packing for a Korean concert isn’t complicated, but the details that trip up first-timers are very specific to how shows here run — mobile tickets that won’t load in a crowd, water rules that vary by venue, standing lines that eat four hours. Here’s the list locals actually use.
Always bring
- Your ticket — screenshot it in advance. Around Korean venues the network gets overloaded and apps often won’t open. A saved screenshot of the ticket screen saves you at the entry gate.
- Physical ID. Real-name entry checks are increasingly common; a physical passport or ID card is the most reliable.
- A power bank. Photos, ticket, maps home — this is the highest phone-dependency day you’ll have.
- Your lightstick (if you have one) — charged, or with fresh batteries. Venues rarely sell them.
- A little cash. A backup for merch booths or lockers when card readers glitch.
By season
Summer (especially outdoor / standing) — Water (check the venue’s reentry rules first), a handheld fan, sunscreen, a hat (off during the show), a spare shirt, and — if it’s a water-spray show like a summer festival — shoes you don’t mind soaking, plus a waterproof pouch.
Winter — Heat packs for the entry line, thin layers you can peel off (indoor arenas run hot), and gloves — your hand gets cold gripping a lightstick.
Rain (outdoor) — A rain poncho is the answer. Umbrellas are often restricted during the show because they block the view behind you.
By seat type
Seated — Binoculars (near-essential on the 2nd/3rd tier), and a lap blanket for winter — dome and arena floors get cold.

Leave it at home
- A big backpack (locker competition is fierce)
- Heels or brand-new shoes
- Strong perfume
- Selfie sticks and tripods (usually on the prohibited list)
